Preparing Your Store for the Holidays
Is Your E-commerce Store Ready for Battle?
With the holidays just around the corner, and Black Friday a few days away, it’s important to make sure that your site looks professional, and has donned its war paint.
There are TONS of stores out there, so if you do not look ready for an influx of traffic, chances are users will move onto the next store.
If you are unsure as to whether or not your site could use a face-lift, an important question to consider is if you were a customer, and you found your site while browsing for a gift, (try not to be biased) would you trust the site enough to provide your credit card information?
You might have hesitated there as you noticed your navigation is a little confusing, or the homepage does not direct you to engage. Do not worry, there is still time for an update!
How to Make Your Site Look More Trustworthy?
1) Strong Call to Actions
Prominent buttons, easy to follow instructions, and eye catching incentives to engage are important CTAs that you should consider including on your home page.
Update slides in your slideshow, and make sure your buttons are a color that stands out from the rest of the page.
2) Align Text, Graphics, and Buttons
If you have a button floating outside the margin of your site, take the time to place it back where it should be.
Thinking of your online store as you would your brick and mortar store, it’s important to maintain it.
Missing a letter on a sign, or having grimy windows does not convince a customer that they should visit your store. Instead, it could be sending the message of “stay away.”
3) Fix Broken Links
A common problem that can frustrate customers is a broken link, and if you have several broken links, they might abandon their search altogether.
Prevent potential customers from taking their business elsewhere by putting yourself in the shoes of the customer, and checking every link on your site. This will help make you look professional, and that you have a keen eye for details.
4) Feature Testimonials, or Reviews on Your Site
Nothing encourages a potential customer to commit, and purchase a product like a raving review from one of your previous customers. If they are on the fence about a product, a great review might be just what they need to take out their wallet.
5) Feature Security Seals and a Secure Checkout
Security seals and a secure checkout that contains “https” links not only make your site look legitimate, but can also give your customer peace of mind. Make sure your site reassures users that their information will be safe with you.
Keep these in mind, and you will be sure to have a great looking store that is sure to knock your customer’s socks off!
